The Will in Augustine’s Confessions: The Law of the Mind and the Law of the Members – Homiletic & Pastoral Review

The Will in Augustine’s Confessions: The Law of the Mind and the Law of the Members – Homiletic & Pastoral Review.

“The origin of evil lies in the disordered human will that disobeys the voice of reason and conscience, not in the lack of knowledge or education.” The training of the will is the often forgotten prerequisite to a fulfilling transformation in Christ. St. Augustine has much to teach us about this basic foundation needed to live the life of a true Christian.

  1. Thanks for posting this. Much to digest and incorporate.

I will stay away from Our Lady Of Free Choice and their kool-aid socials. Methinks it would not be edifying to attend their meetings. 😀

    • That sounds like a great idea. I’ve talked to so many people who struggled to read Confessions but couldn’t get through it because it seemed too hard or the translation they used was difficult to read. A course would probably be the best way to do it. I loved the book and found a great translation: at least I thought so.Hope you get a lot out of it. It is a classic as you know.
