“The origin of evil lies in the disordered human will that disobeys the voice of reason and conscience, not in the lack of knowledge or education.” The training of the will is the often forgotten prerequisite to a fulfilling transformation in Christ. St. Augustine has much to teach us about this basic foundation needed to live the life of a true Christian.

Did the young Augustine remind you of any current bunch perhaps?
How did you guess that?
It was just a hunch, huh?
Yeah, just a swag
Mat have something to do with being a member of a church founded by an Augustinian monk, though. Does the phrase “Our Lady of Perpetual Responsibility” ring any bells?
As opposed to Our Lady of Free Choice? That’s a church I stay away from: I never did like Kool-Aid. Didn’t I mention that to you before?
Too sweet for me as well.
The love was just dripping off the speakers last night. I think I need an insulin shot.
I managed to tear myself away for TV-Land. Somebody this morning referred to it as “abortion-palooza”
I couldn’t manage much of it either. Just a snippet here and there and I still had to take an antacid before going to bed.
Indeed so
Thanks for posting this. Much to digest and incorporate.
I will stay away from Our Lady Of Free Choice and their kool-aid socials. Methinks it would not be edifying to attend their meetings.
Good choice Mr. V.
I’m taking a seminar course on the Confessions of St. Augustine for the Year of Faith so I’m very thankful for this post.
That sounds like a great idea. I’ve talked to so many people who struggled to read Confessions but couldn’t get through it because it seemed too hard or the translation they used was difficult to read. A course would probably be the best way to do it. I loved the book and found a great translation: at least I thought so.Hope you get a lot out of it. It is a classic as you know.
A nice way to end a busy day:). I want to say a big thank you, my friend, for all your riding shotgun over army place – much needed, and I am extremely grateful to you and to NEO
You are so welcome. I’m sure you have a lot on your mind as well. NEO and I will keep an eye on the place, don’t you worry.
